Our Mission

Large language model APIs from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and other providers offer incredible capabilities—but understanding their costs is unnecessarily complex. Different tokenizers, tiered pricing, peak/off-peak rates, context window cliffs, and cache discounts create a maze of variables.

AI Token Calculator exists to cut through that complexity. We provide:

How We Verify Pricing

LLM pricing changes frequently. Providers update rates, add promotional tiers, or introduce new models with different structures. We maintain accuracy through:

  1. Primary sources: Official pricing pages from each provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, DeepSeek, Zhipu AI, Moonshot AI, Alibaba Cloud, MiniMax, Mistral)
  2. Regular verification: Pricing is checked at least monthly and updated when changes are announced
  3. API validation: We test token counts against official APIs to ensure our estimates are accurate
  4. Community feedback: Users report discrepancies, which we investigate and correct promptly
  5. Transparent tracking: Every price includes a verification date and source reference

We mark any uncertain data with "VERIFY" flags and secondary source indicators. You'll never see an invented price on AI Token Calculator.

  • Zhipu AI (GLM) — GLM-5.3 and GLM-4 models
  • Moonshot AI (Kimi) — Kimi K3 and K3.1 Pro
  • Alibaba Cloud (Qwen) — Qwen3.8 Turbo and Plus
  • MiniMax — MiniMax M3 with tiered pricing

Who We Are

AI Token Calculator is built and maintained by AI Token Calculator Team, a developer who got frustrated trying to estimate LLM costs for a production application. After building a spreadsheet, then a script, then realizing others had the same problem—this site was born.

This is an independent project, not affiliated with any LLM provider. We don't receive compensation from providers for coverage or placement. Our goal is accuracy and transparency, not promotion.
